Hey guys, here's all the technical stuff:

Make: Chevrolet

Model: Silverado 1500

Engine: 4.8 V8 Vortec

Year: 2003

I just threw in a new serpentine belt after it slipped off on me while driving yesterday. After starting the vehicle post-installation, I noticed a loud noise and looked under the hood to see the water pump pully was visibly loose and moving with the movement of the belt. I tried to do a bit of research online and I am finding conflicting information. Some sources say the water pump pulley itself is replaceable and this will fix the issue. Other sources say that I have to replace the water pump as a whole. Just curious if anyone here might have some insight. It sounds like just replacing the pulley would be a lot easier, so I'm hoping that's the case.

If you need any additional info let me know. I'm a handy guy but I have little knowledge on vehicles so I may have inadvertently left out some important information. I truly appreciate any advice!
