Why did Aegisthus kill his adoptive father Atreus? I know that the prophecy said he would, but I don’t understand his motivation. Was he just siding with his biological father/grandfather? Was it for power? As the adoptive son of a king, wouldn’t he already be in a position of power?
Found an old notebook from 1998. In it, I found an idea for a third Scream movie after watching Scream 2. It’s funny reading it now and seeing how some ideas happened in a different way, and how some ideas will never happen.
My idea for the opening kill was for Ghostface to target Tori Spelling & David Schwimmer (playing themselves). The two actors would be busy practicing a scene for Stab 2 when Tori would start getting phone calls. Tori & David end up dead and we get the Scream 3 Title Card.
We then see Sidney sitting on her couch, in her LA apartment, reading a script for a new Rom-Com movie. She’s an aspiring actress. On the news she hears about the deaths of Tori & David. Police suspect an obsessed stalker. The phone rings and Sid nervously answers it. But she is relieved when it’s her agent. Her agent asks if she has heard the news and relays that the studio wants Sid to take over the role of Sidney for Stab 2. Sid refuses, but her agent reminds her that the only roles she is getting offered are horror movies which she refuses to do. Obviously, Sid decides to take the job.
On the set, Sid sees that Dewey is also taking over his Stab 2 role. He & Gale are engaged, but she isn’t too happy. Her book about the college murders were outsold by Cotton Weary’s more fictional account where he is the main character. Also, the Stab 2 script is based on his book and not hers.
Ghostface turns out to be Sid’s costar. A white, blonde actress playing Sids friend, Hallie. Her plan was to make herself look like the Final Girl & get the Horror Movie career that Sid refused to have. The other Ghostface was the movies Screenwriter who came up with the scenario because he is in love with the wannabe star.
In the end, Sid, Dewey, & Gale survive while Cotton Weary is one of the victims. I was surprised that the actual Scream 3 was also set in Hollywood and that Jill had a similar motive in Part 4
