Using a clean-up brush: better on wet or (partly) dry nails?

I’ve been trying to do it as I go but I wonder if it would work better on slightly dry nails? I feel like I’m sometimes dragging around the wet polish. And I also end up rushing myself a bit.

Anyone else see a guy leading a herd of 6+ untethered horses through Richmond today?

No bridles, nothing, walking as a big group along Petersham Road during a busy Saturday afternoon. It was quite bizarre. Anyone else?

I’m trying to figure out if there’s still a perfect match for me in terms of a perfect glowy polish perfect for HOT days. Something delicate, shimmery, unapologetically sunny and light.

Attached are pics of a few polishes I own and like, but which are somehow leaving a gap.

-Mooncat Midsummer’s dream - lovely but maybe a little too plain / understated on the shimmer? I also have Death’s Trumpet and maybe the same Q

-Danglefoot N the end - lovely but more autumnal

-BKL Do no harm - was surprised by how much I liked this, but it works (photo credit to polishedbookworm on Insta as I didn’t have a good mani pic

-Garden path sprig - love it but still not 100% on the green shimmers

Themes are:

-I generally prefer a blue shimmer to a green one - I have plenty of green shimmers but they don’t speak to me the way blue does. I particularly like blue on pink shimmer

-I tend not to like polishes that are completely EXTRA but I do like a good glow.

Any recommendations are welcomed!

Polishes I’ve considered:

-ILNP fairy child. My reservations are whether I want the extra texture of the holo, and whether it’s a little *too* bold.

-Polished for days you’re gonna be popular. Maybe too green?

-Clionadh lightfast

Any suggestions warmly welcomed!

And how about same question but for someone with a totally opposing aesthetic to yours?

For my samie I think I’d perhaps go:

  1. Cirque Marsala or Wine Jelly

  2. A very delicate holo topper in their metallic tone of choice (eg Cirque Lumiere)

  3. Something with novelty value like a thermal or solar, but in a fairly subtle colorway. Maybe one of the Sassy Sauce ones that’s intended to look like a French manicure

  4. Something glowy and interesting to open their eyes to what lacquer can be - maybe a BKL (but not magnetic)

For my oppie:

  1. A full on multichrome

  2. A completely bonkers thermal

  3. Something fun with black flakies

  4. A matte topper

Not a polished April recap alas as my manis have been a bit experimental / haphazard (as has my hand posing!)

1&2: Mooncat Death’s Trumpet

3&4: Nails Inc Call Me On My Hotline

5: Colores De Carol Cozy + Essie Mystic Marine + Cirque Lumiere

All with peely base & Sally Hansen red QDTC

I just tried a reflective glitter polish for the first time - very much an experiment. Aside from remembering peach toned polishes don’t suit me at all 🤦‍♀️ it’s made me think I’d love a polish with a much subtler scattering of reflective, vs. it being the singular feature of the lacquer.

So please share with me any examples of polishes you love that have a tiny scattering of twinkle ✨

Polish is Monarch Scattering Theory over UNT peely base and topped with Sally Hansen red bottle QDTC. (Photographs terribly; better in person if still wrong for my skin tone.)
