Hi everyone
This is Darla, my cavapoo. She was just diagnosed with a torn ACL and it’s been really tough to process.
She’s normally super active and playful, but right now she can’t put weight on her back leg at all. Trying to keep her rested and calm has been a challenge. Shes all out of her gabapebtin and the cbd treats aren’t making a difference. The vet said surgery is likely the best option for her to get back to normal, so that’s our next step. She has a surgical consultation Wednesday.
Of course this happened a week after we got her on new insurance so all medical expenses are out of the 6m orthopedic coverage and will be denied including her other leg due to a bilateral clause in the policy.
I’m doing everything I can to figure out next steps, but I wanted to ask if anyone here has gone through this with their cavapoo. What was recovery like? Did surgery help?

Mostly, I just wanted to share Darla and hear from anyone who’s been through something similar. Thank you
