Hi, so I got my hair professionally dyed about 5-6 months ago and I’m wondering if it would be okay/safe to box dye my hair? My current hair color is a reddish brown with chunks of copper (that was used by a toner, I believe). It’s definitely faded over time and I’m ready for a new color. I don’t really want to have to go back to the salon and get it dyed again due to how expensive it is (almost around $200ish in total), but I’ve never had highlights like these before so I’m not sure if a box dye would end up causing issues with how the dye takes. If it may be an issue then I’ll go to the salon. I would like to go a darker brown (closer to my natural hair color) if possible!
