My son can only say “uh oh” “mama” “wawa” and a few other singulars like such. But he still cannot communicate to use what he needs or wants. He gets extremely upset and cries and points at everything. We’ve learned what most of his demands mean but we are struggling in many other areas because he cannot really talk.
It’s so hard for me to put into words myself, ironically. I just don’t know what to do. We practice with him to say words all the time. And he used to say words that now he doesn’t say AT ALL. He rarely says “dada” like he used to. He doesn’t say “kitty” anymore. (We have cats).
Note: we were told he has a “minor tongue tie” but it wasn’t enough for the hospital to recommend getting it clipped. It’s something I really wanna do now because I’m worried this holding back our son from speaking. we are so burnt out from all his tantrums and behaviors. His only communication skills are hitting, slapping, bitting, throwing his head into our faces, pulling hair.
I am getting outraged and burnt out and I have NO village to help support us. It’s just my husband and me and he feels the same. Please help with some wisdom or advice or emotional reassurance. Something please… :(
