Does robotic really has 25% reoccurrence chance?

I was reading recent stats and research that robotic hernia has a 25 percent chance of reoccurrence, either repaired hernia location or new locations from where they Inserted or created ports.

does any one has any information on it.

looks like most surgeons are preferring to do robotic, but I wonder if it may be to get more experience on robotic systems.

Is anyone opting for open repair or most of us are going with lapro or robotic for inguinal hernia?

Hi, I was reading pros and cons between open and lapro/robotic and apart of more recovery time, open repair sounds pretty reasonable, but I may be wrong.

does open put mesh on top of muscles, and assuming for open surgeons first stitch the hernia, so shouldnt It be a more durable repair? And isnt it that in long run if the mesh moves or degrades, its not putting the organs at risk?

again I may be wrong and researching only that if I am getting the mesh then is it better through open or lapo/ robot in long run?

it “may” be that chronic pain is more of a concern with open mesh? But not sure.

48 y old male with initial hernia of size 4.2 cm reducible.

hello, when they do the mesh repair, do they close the hernia defect first with mesh or just put the mesh?

also can I wait and watch for a 4.2 cm (size through ultrasound) reducible right Inguinal hernia?

no pain, but I have discomfort and a high level of anxiety on what comes next to repair it.

report says it has fat tissues.

hi there, so a few days back I noticed a smooth bulge of around an inch diameter on my right groin. which I figured is hernia.

i never had a hernia before, so after panicking since, now I am trying to accept reality and making doctor appointment and research.

I used to lift weights at gym and missing my workout dearly.

my bulge is visible when I stand and goes away when I lie down, and less prominent when I wake up in morning.

now I am debating whether to have Lapo surgery or open as I was always nervous from going unconscious, and nervous of general anesthesia.

Lapo seems to have quicker recovery time, but then comes the question of TAPP technique vs the TEP?

which one people opt for more? TAPP or TEP? TEP I heard needs a more skilled surgeon.

Can I request local Anesthesia only in TEP?

sorry too many questions 🙁 but very panicked and worried.

Thanks
