Not looking for judgment on this, just some advice. My son has been exclusively breastfed up until now and he is 4 months old. Unfortunately it is becoming abundantly clear that he is intolerant to something in my diet and we cannot figure out what. I have tried eliminating dairy, dairy + soy together, dairy/soy/egg, and a few other common ones and unfortunately no improvement. We cannot pinpoint what it is that is bothering him. As much as I wish he could stay exclusively breastfed, I feel that it is unfair to him and I both to continue to suffer. I'm preparing myself for the possibility of switching him to a hypoallergenic formula.

The part that I'm unsure how to manage is, this baby LOVES the boob. I have rarely ever been able to get him to sleep without nursing to sleep (my husband has also never successfully got him to sleep). He doesn't like to be cuddled, rocked, swaddled etc. He falls asleep on the boob and does wake usually twice overnight, nurses briefly, and falls back asleep. He won't take a pacifier and is actually unable to keep one in due to improper suck. I genuinely don't know how I would get him to sleep, console him, etc without the breast. And quitting his only form of soothing cold turkey would be brutal to him too I'm sure. Currently, a big symptom of the assumed intolerance is fussing and crying more often than he doesn't, so I'm very anxious about how I can calm him without giving him the boob considering it'll probably be a few weeks on the formula for symptoms to resolve.

He also does have severe acid reflux which he's medicated for, mucousy poops, extreme fussiness, spits up a lot

Looking for some advice here

My 3.5 month old has severe acid reflux which he is on medication for. The medication has certainly given improvement but he has still screamed and cried every car ride we've taken since birth. I'm assuming it's to do with positioning, or restraints maybe? Not 100% sure but I figure since I'll need to move him into a convertible seat from an infant bucket seat at some point anyway, I might as well try it now and see if it helps. If you have a refluxy baby and you have a car seat they don't hate, what seat are you using?

(Yes the seat is installed correctly, recline is adjusted, shoulder straps at correctly level, newborn inserts removed at 11 lbs, and i have had both the fit of the seat in the car and the baby in the seat checked by a car seat technician)
