Booked a 5 night stay at a Ramada by Wyndham in San Diego, and it’s turning into a disaster. Turns out the hotel is in a sketchy part of town and the hotel looks even worse than the surrounding area. When I looked at the area on Google, I saw a community college and various good looking restaurants within a block and a half radius and figured it looked fine. The sink leaks onto the counter when you turn it on, the phone straight up does not work, there were no towels or tissues in the bathroom, the door handle is loose, the plate on the door frame for the lock has been stripped and is also wiggly, and there seems to be some sort of gap between the door and the frame because it sounds like the door is still open when we close it. We woke up this morning and the room smells entirely like weed which is giving both of us a headache. Maintenance came by and messed with the door for a while but couldn’t do much and said “I mean you’re safe”, and we had to remind him twice for the tissue box. I honestly don’t think they have any better rooms than the one we’re in, and my wife is PISSED. I booked on the hotel’s website, not through a third party. Is there any way I can get some money back?
