Safe weight loss options for my mom after major weight gain?

Over the last couple of years, my mom has gained a significant amount of weight and it’s now starting to seriously affect her health.

A lot of it started after she broke her hand and had to take steroids for a while. Her activity levels dropped during recovery, and since then the weight just kept increasing gradually. She’s now crossed 90 kgs. Recently, we went for a check-up because she’s been getting tired very easily and feeling breathless even during basic activity. The doctor said her weight is putting extra strain on her heart and that she really needs to start managing it properly now.

The problem is, we honestly don’t know the right way to approach this anymore. Crash diets don’t seem realistic, and intense workouts feel risky because she already has joint pain and low stamina. We’ve started with small changes like walking and improving her diet, but progress feels very slow and discouraging.

If anyone has helped a parent through something similar, especially weight gain connected to steroids or reduced mobility, I’d really appreciate hearing what actually helped in a sustainable way.

I’m a girl in my early 20s running a small online business and honestly I didn’t realize how mentally exhausting it would get. Some days I feel motivated and confident, then one slow week happens and suddenly I start questioning my whole future 😭

People around me think having an online business means “easy money” but they don’t see the stress behind low sales, inconsistent customers, content pressure, replying to everyone, and trying to stay positive all the time.

I haven’t even told my family how anxious I’ve been lately because I don’t want them saying “we told you so.”

Did anyone here go through this phase while building their business? How did you mentally deal with the uncertainty?
