At my wits end with my 2011 honda crv
I could really use some advice right now.
In mid-February, I took my car to a new shop to get my breaks redone. New master cylinder, break pads, everything ($1400). 2 weeks later, my car stopped driving. It felt like the breaks were kicking in while I was driving and had this bad burned rubber smell. I took it back to the shop. He then charged me $1900 to fix transmission, alternator, and leaking radiator. I said fine because I just want a working car.
Well, 1 week later, it happened again. Same exact thing. I brought it back. He had it for a week and said it was driving fine, and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I got it back, and then the next week it happened again. I took it back, and he then said I needed a new abs system. He only charged me for the part, no labor, so another $250.
Well, 2 days after I picked it up, it fucking happened again. This time I took it to honda. They said the car was a mess down below and looked not professionally done. Said I needed a new master cylinder that was a real Honda part, not aftermarket. I said fine as long as it works! Another $1800.
Well, I picked it up today, and literally 20 minutes later it stopped. Again.
So idk what to do. Tomorrow I'm going to bring it back to Honda to see if they can fix it. But I can't keep dumping money into this car for a problem that apparently nobody can fix.
Do I have any recourse against the mechanic who messed it up in the first place?
When do I stop pouring money into this and have to buy a new car?
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
I feel like I'm losing my mind and have no idea what to do. I've never been so frustrated in my entire life.
