Is it required now that a deposit is required regardless? No where on this hotels site does it state it takes a deposit 3 days early, but the email they sent to me had a disclaimer of “As your reservation was made under the Explore Friends + Family Rate program, please note that these bookings follow specific policies and procedures that differ from standard reservations, including deposit requirements.” And my booking was outright cancelled after they tried to charge the card early with no warning.

I’m not angry I should’ve put the right card however I normally just do this at the hotel and will be hopefully able to rebook but wanted to know in the future or did the hotel try charging a deposit when one is not required?
