The Wild Atlantic Way?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 30-years-old female going through one of these moments in life where things get a bit shaky: long relationship ended, moved to another country and did not fully settle in after 1.5 y, and carrying things that need to be sorted to feel better soon. Maybe some of you can relate... This is why, I would like to do a solo trip to Ireland - a place that I adore for its lovely people, culture and stunning landscape.

I'm an enthusiastic, experienced hiker, and I would really appreciate your advice on whether you would recommend hiking the wild atlantic way between Galway and Derry to someone like me: female travelling solo but keen on meeting new (friendly) people along the way, also interested in discovering more "urban" areas apart from nature (a few pubs would be nice ;)), and have approximately 1.5 weeks to travel. I especially like this route among others that I have seen (the Ireland way) because it feels a bit wilder, and quieter.

After a frenetic period, I feel ready for this little adventure. My goal is to try to connect with myself, and meet new, friendly people along the way. Would you recommend this route? Or other similar ones? Do you think that it is safe for a young female? Are there must-see visits that you would recommend along the way?

Thank you very much in advance for your advice!
