A dentist put a small blob of uncured dental composite on my thumbnail to show how a filling works. I briefly touched it while it was uncured - it felt doughy and only dented, it didnt stick or transfer visibly. It was then cured for about 7 seconds. I kept the cured piece and handled it for a bit afterwards.

I googled hours later and found out composite is toxic uncured and that the “cured” blob still has an uncured inhibition layer. Now I’m worried that I’ve transferred residue to all the things I touched at home.

Is it realistic that this would have spread enough to contaminate my home?

Three years ago, I didn’t care about contamination at all. Now I find myself questioning what is normal because my mind has been in this constant scanning-for-threats-state far too long.

Is it reassurance seeking to go on TikTok to see what other people do? Or helpful to understand reality?

For example, the other day someone was in the car spot next to me, using duct tape to strap down some furniture to their car while I was loading items I had purchased into my car. Once I drove away, I freaked out that the duct tape this person was using had somehow contaminated all my stuff (Because of the close proximity).

I went onto TikTok and saw people making CLOTHES out of duct tape and wearing it, and even found out that duct tape can be used to treat warts on children. This gave me intense relief because it was like oh ok this stuff isn’t as dangerous as I thought if people are doing all this stuff with duct tape. It mustn't be able to spread everywhere in houses otherwise people would be cautioning about residue cleanup.

So yeah is this bad to do if my mind is so warped I don’t even understand normal?
