I’m confused

EDIT: I will 100% NOT be using AI to tell me what’s wrong with my skin, to develop a routine, or ever in general. I’m an avid outdoorswoman and enjoyer of Mother Earth and AI is killing her. AI is not the solution, it is the problem.

Thank you so much for all of the feedback, I appreciate everyone’s two cents!

A couple of months ago I got my first ever facial and derma-plane. The esthetician told me that my skin looked relatively good. She said I really just needed some more hydration, maybe an exfoliant and to find a product that helps with redness so I did. I went to Ulta and picked up a product redness reducer (no exfoliant). I have been using it for the last two months. Haven’t really seen a big change, but I plan on trialing another product. Fast-forward to today. I get another facial from another esthetician who was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I go in having already filled out all of the pre-appointment questions about like what products I use and what I think my problems are. When I walk in, she tells me that we’re not doing the facial I selected and that we’re doing a custom one because my barrier is messed up and that we also won’t be doing the derma-plane. Now mind you, I have never seen this esthetician before, so how could she know that my barrier is compromised when she has never looked at my skin before that moment? Also, I put in the requests section of the questionnaire to get some recommendations that are affordable and easily accessible because, hellooooo??? Life is expensive. She tells me that she doesn’t do drug store recommendations because “there are just too many products out there to go through”. The facial goes fine and we wrap up the appointment and she hand me a goodie, bag of samples and a cleanser. I am just feeling kind of at a loss right now because one esthetician is telling me one thing and another is telling me something different. I also want to mention that I have not changed my skin care routine other than adding the redness reducer after my first facial. I did tell her that I had a couple of days where my products were pilling and tingling, but that is now resolved. I removed the salicylic acid cleanser (the exfoliant I picked up) and my products were not pilling or tingling anymore.

How do I know which one is right?
