human hair wigs changed how i get dressed and i didnt expect that

this sounds weird but bear with me, before i started wearing wigs, getting ready was like fine. i pick an outfit, do my hair and then done, but my hair never really felt like part of the look like it was just kinda there. then i switched to human hair wigs and something shifted. had this moment last week where i put on a silk top and just knew the wavy one was the right call, felt so put together for once lol. now when im building an outfit i actually think about which wig fits the vibe. sleek and straight for something more polished, wavy or curly when the fit is more relaxed. its the same energy as picking jewelry or shoes, it just pulls everything together differently.

didnt think hair could change how i approach getting dressed but here we are. curious if anyone else thinks about their wigs this way or do you mostly just grab one and go?

i realized recently that a weird amount of my closet is built for a version of me that… doesn’t exist like i keep buying these really put-together outfits that feel like cool girl who goes to galleries and has brunch plans but in reality i rotate between work, errands, and sitting at home wondering what to eat. and then those clothes just sit there because they feel like too much for my actual day and the annoying part is i genuinely like those pieces, so it’s not like they were bad purchases, they just don’t match my real routine. and then i end up defaulting to the same 5 safe outfits anyway.

i can’t tell if the solution is to stop buying aspirational stuff or if i’m just supposed to start dressing more like that version of myself even if it feels a bit extra at first. how did you figure out where to draw the line between fantasy wardrobe and real life
