Drishyam 3 - The Mohanlal factor we underlook

Drishyam 3 - The Mohanlal factor we underlook

I just watched the trailer of Drishyam 3 and honestly, I feel like people seriously underestimate the Mohanlal factor in this franchise.

We all know that Drishyam 2 did not exactly look great in terms of production quality. At many points, the visuals, lighting, and overall presentation genuinely felt like a television serial. But despite all that, the movie still worked brilliantly. And I think the biggest reason was simply Mohanlal.

The same feeling came back while watching the trailer of Drishyam 3. The camera work, the texture, the overall visual quality still feel surprisingly basic for such a massive franchise. Even some parts, the possible media investigation plot feels very plain and archaic. But the moment Mohanlal appears as Georgekutty, none of that seems to matter anymore.

I think what truly keeps audiences hooked to the Drishyam series is not just the plot twists or suspense. It is the way Mohanlal completely makes us live inside Georgekutty’s mind. We are not just watching a thriller. We are watching Georgekutty think, panic, calculate, and survive. That emotional connection becomes so strong that people almost unconsciously ignore the weaker technical aspects of the films.

At this point, the franchise feels carried more by Mohanlal’s screen presence and performance than by cinematic excellence.
