New student in Sydney here.

I am finding it really hard to commute to work. I end up waiting close to an hour for a bus ride that only takes about 20 minutes, which is becoming very frustrating and time consuming.

I am considering getting a second hand bike to make things easier. From my perspective, a bike seems cheaper to maintain and more fuel efficient compared to a used car, but I would like to hear what others think.

For students in Sydney, would you recommend getting a bike or a car?

Also, I am looking for a reliable bike mechanic who can help with a pre purchase inspection before I commit to buying.

Any advice would be appreciated.
