Hello! I play in Japan, started competitive volleyball about 2 years ago and play middle (#27). I keep getting confused by scenarios like this one.

Please forgive my volleyball lingo I don't know what they are in English for sure.

Is it okay to leave the middle block to my left guy (#15)? If I notice their middle is going for an A-quick (1?), is it okay to cheat and start heading to the right?

Their opposite wasn't going in, and #0 is their best player.

When I went for a block I didn't make it in time, but got a hand on the ball. It went right and behind.

Would appreciate any and all advice. I struggle to know when to commit to the middle block a lot.
