Tips? Help my little brother

I want to find willing coaches and camps for him as he is a junior. He is a very smart and hardworking kid especially when he’s obsessed. He’s been enthralled since he started so he actually goes to school and tries more in his classes. I would love to hear any advice I can give him or places I can send him to work on this passion he has.

Coaches and volleyball parents — do you analyze match stats in Excel/Sheets after exporting? What columns do you actually use?

I'm developing a volleyball match analysis app (yes, I'm the developer — also a volleyball parent who started tracking my kid's games obsessively).

I'm working on adding CSV export, and I want to make sure the data is actually useful — not just a dump of numbers nobody needs.

So I'm curious: do any of you export stats and dig into them in Excel or Google Sheets? If so, what are the columns or metrics you actually find valuable? What's missing from most tools?

Brutal honesty appreciated.

How to stop landing under the net

When I get set tight I always land under the net so when it happens in games I usually let the ball drop because I’m scared of getting injured. I also have a problem with landing on one leg when it’s tight, but I usually land on both if I’m 3-4 feet off.

Looking for volleyball games in Vancouver (May 29, June 2-6)

Hi, I’m planning a trip to Vancouver and looking for opportunities to play volleyball on May 29 and between June 2 and June 6.

I have about 8 years of experience playing volleyball in Korea. Since most amateur games in Korea are 9-man format, I’m still getting used to 6-on-6 rotations, but my fundamental skills are solid.

I’m staying in the Marpole/Oakridge area, but I’m willing to travel to Downtown or other accessible areas for a good game.

I’d appreciate any info on:

  1. Which websites or apps are most effective for booking drop-ins or finding pickup games?
  2. Are there any local or Urban Rec teams looking for a sub during those dates?

I'm open to indoor, grass, or beach volleyball. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or an open spot on your team. Thanks.

The controversial point that decided the 1st set in the Champions League final

Probably the turning point of the whole final. Perugia gained the momentum and demolished Zawiercie in the next two sets

What national teams do you watch?

Just a fun question I had in mind. I like watching the matches of my country, but what other volleyball nations do you watch, maybe even support?

I'm German, so of course I watch their matches. Plus a few players like Brehme, Graven and Hosch are a few players I like a lot.

Japan I always like to watch, Brazil as well (basic answers, I know)

Poland of course. Whenever I see a match, I am impressed

The Netherlands are a fun team. Has a bit of a hidden gem-quality to me whenever I spot a Netherlands match

Finland pretty much because of one player I really adore, but last year performance made sure I wanna watch every match I can

So, what about you then?

which tools do you use for long term player development tracking in your club?

As a young coach trying to modernize our assessment process, I'm looking for recommendations. We typically do CMJ, attack and block jump recordings monthly, also endurance testing and cod drills, but the manual recording is just too time consuming. What tools do you have to make it trackable on the long run?

What Positions Should I Work On?

Hi! I'm a 16F who's going into her junior year. I've been a Middle for my club for about 2 years now. As I'm getting older, I realized that I'm pretty short (5'7, not short in GENERAL but short for my position.) And I really struggled this year because all of the girls were pushing 5'10 or higher. I like to think I have a good vert, but my arms are too small and short lol.

Though I have plans on working on everything this summer before club try outs, I want a certain position to show special attention too. I've played setter for my school, but not for very long. Only half way through freshman year and the entire of my sophomore year.

So I'm curious! Thanks for any advice ahead of time.

Help deciding positon

Hi I just need some help deciding my position because in 2 months we have tryouts for a club im thinking of joining but I cant decide. I will share some of my skills to let you know my ability level.

Passing: pretty underaverage or average, I can get the ball up but not always right to the setter.

Serving: very good I do consistent topspin jumpserves in 14u.

spiking: Average or slightly above average, I can hit pretty well but often lack power and struggle with hitting the ball anything other then back corner.

setting: horrible not an option

blocking: average

Im a right handed 5'9 male who is 14. I've been playing middle as everyone on my current team is very short but im assuming that wont be an option for more competetive volleyball.

Terrible picture but are my hands too wide?

I know that it is advised to set with your hands in a triangle formation, but when I do it like that, it feels a lot more forced. What is actually the best position to set in? I know it’s bad, so i came here for advice. Thank you!

How to get better at hitting balls that are close to net

Hey guys, just a quick question about hitting as an outside hitter. I have some mental block on the balls that are close to the net, i am scared of them, i don't want to land in the net or under the net on the opposite side, especially when i am getting blocked. I am just fine with hitting balls that are a little further from the net. Soy question is what do i do with those balls? Do i just jump from normal position but extend my arm? Or do i have to come closer, i think my problem is that i don't understand in which position should my hand be when contacting the ball. The ones that are further, i contact at my max reach in height. Maybe i should try contacting them more in from of me? I would appreciate either explanations or youtube links, i wasn't able to find anything myself. Thanks in advance
