CBSE 2026 OSM Checking Has Been One of the Biggest Blunders I’ve Ever Seen🚨🚨🚨
I never thought I would write something this serious about CBSE, but after seeing my own result, my friends’ results, my school’s condition, and hundreds of reactions online, I genuinely feel the 2026 OSM evaluation system has failed students badly.
And no, this is not just “students crying after low marks.”
Something feels seriously wrong this year.
CBSE shifted to large-scale OSM (On-Screen Marking/digital evaluation), and somehow this exact year:
pass percentage dropped heavily
compartment cases increased massively
students failed by 1 mark
people expecting 85–90% got 60s
unexpected failures are everywhere
entire friend groups got destroyed academically
I’m attaching:
my own marksheet
screenshots from fellow students
answer sheet examples
tweets and reactions from students across India
because this honestly needs to become a mega thread documenting what happened this year.
This needs to be reposted.
This needs attention on Twitter/X.
This needs to spread everywhere.
Because students deserve answers.
Now let me tell my own case.
I got:
54 in English
26 in Maths
And everyone knows how dangerous that number is because 27 is usually considered the passing line in Maths.
If there was literally a difference of 1 mark, I could have ended up in compartment too.
Imagine preparing for an entire year, sacrificing sleep, mental peace, coaching, school life — and then your future hangs on ONE mark because of questionable checking.
I have NEVER scored this low in English in my life.
I was genuinely expecting:
around 90–95 in English
around 40 in Maths
around 75% overall
Instead, the result felt completely disconnected from reality.
And again — I am NOT alone.
The pattern is the exact same everywhere.
Students who consistently scored well suddenly dropped massively.
People confident about passing are failing.
People are failing by 1 mark.
People are unexpectedly getting compartment.
Some are failing in multiple subjects.
Now let me talk about my school.
I’m from Bhubaneswar, Region 4.
In my school alone (not naming it publicly):
around 112 students appeared
around 38–40 students got Essential Repeat
around 28 students got compartment
Just think about that for a second.
That is an INSANE number from a single school.
I have never seen results like this before.
And the craziest part?
Even our teachers were shocked.
One of our teachers literally sent a voice note in the group saying the marks are extremely low and students should apply for rechecking because something feels wrong.
When even TEACHERS are questioning the evaluation, how are students supposed to trust the system blindly?
And the worst part?
Now students are being told to pay:
₹100 per question
₹500+
for verification and rechecking.
Why should students spend their parents’ hard-earned money because of possible mistakes in the evaluation system itself?
We already paid:
school fees
board fees
practical fees
examination fees
coaching fees
And now after questionable checking, students have to PAY AGAIN just to verify whether their answer sheets were checked correctly?
That makes absolutely no sense.
CBSE seriously needs to address this publicly.
At least:
give an official explanation
clarify how OSM checking was conducted
explain why so many unexpected results happened
improve transparency in evaluation
reduce rechecking fees if evaluation errors are this common
Because right now students genuinely feel helpless.
And people saying “you just studied less” are ignoring what’s happening everywhere.
A few students overestimating marks is normal.
But thousands of students across schools, coaching centers, and states reporting the SAME issues at the SAME time?
That points toward a system-level problem.
Students are mentally exhausted.
Some are losing confidence completely.
Some are scared about college admissions, CUET, JEE, and future opportunities.
And honestly, the saddest thing is watching hardworking students question their own intelligence because of one shocking marksheet.
This year genuinely feels different — and not in a good way.
If anyone else faced unexpected marks, compartment shock, or strange checking this year, share your experience below and attach your screenshots too.
Make this a mega thread.
Because students deserve answers.
UPDATE:- One of My Father’s friend’s son committed sucide yesterday after getting failed in physics and maths.
