Helping out my fellow NIRO and others who might be in a similar boat. I have a 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid for some reason my model came with a wireless charger but you have to hard wire through the usb to use car play. So I purchased an ottocast to solve for this issue. However, I found that any time in near my garage my ottocast would take over losing call or audio. I searched for a solution but didn’t find an exact issue I had. Simply the KIA USB doesn’t turn off when the car is off.
I found some other sources referring to a Y cable. 1 female in to 2 male out. But they all had power in either configuration. Upon searching elsewhere I found they sell a usb power blocker. So I purchased a Y cable and a usb power blocker. Cost me about 12 bucks total. Put the power blocker on the usb 3.0 side and the 2.0 into a cigarette power adapter and the ottocast now shuts down with the car.
