Guinea pig abscess marsupialization wound reopened

Guinea pig abscess marsupialization wound reopened

So a few weeks ago my guinea pig had surgery to flush an abscess, they stitched the opening open so it could heal from the inside out, to cut a long story short it looked like it healed pretty well, there was no redness or swelling when the hole closed. He went to the vets a few days ago for a post op check and they said everything looked well and they were happy with how its healed. Well tonight i check it and theres a bit of pus leaking from the wound, there was no scab as it had healed so it was actually skin, i pushed a little and pus came out and now he has a perfectly rounded hole there so obviously the abscess has come back but there is no hard lump underneath or anything, has anyone else experienced this?

My netured male guinea pig got into my females cage while i was at work and they all have wounds

My netured male whose currently recovering from an abscess surgery got into my 2 females cage, i have no idea how long he was in there as i work 12 hour shifts but he has a small wound on his chin and my female has a massive tear on the side of her mouth, she is eating fine but i cannot get to thevets for the next few days, I’ve already spent nearly £1,000 on my boy this past week because of his abscess, I honestly don’t know what to do. Her wound looks like it needs stitches, i have some iodine that i can dilute to put on it that was given to flush my boys abscess but im worried as i know how quickly they can go down hill and im working 7 days in a row as i took on extra shifts to be able to afford the vet bills ive paid recently, im going to call the vets first thing tomorrow.

Hello, so my boy was neutured around 6-7 weeks ago and he has developed an abscess and he has been prescribed loxicom every 12 hours, im not sure what to do as i leave for work at 6:00am and get back from work at around 8:30pm ish, that means one window would be 14 hours and the next window would be 10 hours, i have no way of administering it every 12 hours unless i leave work early which is unrealistic as hes on this medication for 10 days, has anyone else experienced this?
