So a couple of weeks ago my son invited a couple of school kids over after school because they’d been playing Uno and Connect 4 together at recess pretty much nonstop. I didn’t plan much for this but they’ve managed to keep themselves entertained for 2 hours playing Uno and Connect 4.

Since then, it has somehow become a regular thing that they’d come over after school on Thursdays. They literally knocked on my door yesterday asking if game day is happening tomorrow or not.

I work at home remotely, I can be there for my kid if I need do, but I can’t spend extended amount of time with them.

So I guess my question is how do I keep these “game days” interesting for them? All i do so far is provide some snacks and drinks for them, but I can see that they are getting bored of Uno.

Are they going to find something for themselves, or should I start providing other types of entertainment. I’m a big fan of board games so I would love it if they kept going on that trajectory.

Middle school kids by the way.
