I’ve looked a little bit mostly found new deck services or commercial companies.

I have a wooden deck (about 15 feet by 50 feet) that needs a fresh coat of stain.

- my partner and I thought a lot about doing it ourselves, but so much unknown makes us weary. How long would this even take us to do ourselves? A day- cool- a couple days with things needing to be done spaced out e.g. phases need time to dry or set before doing the next stage?. So many stain options, what’s right for our deck /usage / direct sunlight?

- owned the house 1.5 years so no idea what is currently on here. (It’s red and wearing off)

- does it need sanding? I don’t know. Google says no as it doesn’t pass the water bubble test. But who knows.

- a couple boards have split/cracked, but doubt it’s all the way through. Do they need replacing or filling?

I don’t want to hire someone off Jack rabbit or anything as I don’t know what it needs.

I’d like to avoid a 3k bill but I have no idea how much this type of work costs in today’s world.

Tips and recs very welcome!
