Instant release at night?
Hi,
I've been on Seroquel for years prescribed for EUPD, anxiety etc. It's been working extremely well until recently when all my old symptoms returned.
I was taking 300 altogether - 100 instant release spread throughout the day, and 200 extended release at bedtime.
My psychiatrist now says she doesn't prescribe extended release any more as her experience and research suggests it's not helpful. She's now put me on 350 altogether. All instant release. 25 in morning, 25 at lunch, 50 in evening, and 250 at night.
I fully trust my psychiatrist. But I don't really understand this. Isn't the 250 night time instant release kind of "wasted" as the effect would wear off while I'm asleep? (I usually sleep well anyways, so it's not for that purpose.)
Maybe I misunderstand it, and the 250 will help me through the next day?
I'm currently inpatient so will have the chance to discuss it with her again, but I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on this.
