I just bought a new gaming laptop. It has a 5070 RTX, 32 gb RAM, Intel I7 ultra CPU. Many games are running at ~40 FPS when it should be much higher. My old laptop had a 4060 and 16 gb of RAM, would perform great when playing the same games. The new laptop will also randomly full freeze and shit itself for ~10 seconds at random times. This never happened on my old laptop, regardless of what was happening. I have the latest drivers installed, running my GPU on discreet graphics mode and high performance settings. I ran the free 3DMark stress test and it held a consistent 30 FPS the whole way through.

Is there any suggestions as to what is causing this poor performance and how to fix it? I am just considering returning the laptop.
