SOS HELP FOR REX!!! He's a good boy he just needs a chance and patience and time to decompress! Remember the 3-3-3 rule when fostering or adopting! So many great resources online!
Rex (#A5748778) was euthanasia
listed at Downey ACC, where he was privately adopted with the intention to rehome.
After a couple weeks, it was decided that he will be taken back to the shelter!!
He showed signs of aggression in the foster's training environment and it was determined that he needed to leave.
He now has a rescue who is willing to back him with an experienced, qualified foster. He requires exercise and stimulation. Please only reach out if you feel this is you!
He needs us everyone! Please SHARE this post and help us find a foster before it's too late for him!
1 year old, 68 Ibs.
His notes at the shelter:
Rex was easily leashed and collared, and exited the kennel on his own. He felt unsure around other dogs at first, but with time and space, he began to settle.
His body softened as he acclimated to the yard, and he began to follow the dogs around with no interest in engaging in play. He preferred to observe rather than play and does best with slow, gradual introductions.
During handling Rex remained in a calm, seated position allowing his ears, mouth, abdomen, tail, and paws to be handled.
He displayed a neutral body posture, an open mouth pant, neutral gaze, a natural ear set, and a low, relaxed tail.
Once the session concluded, he was returned to his kennel without issue.
