Subaru WRX 2022 amp & speaker install
Hey guys, first time poster here and also learning about car AV for the first time so forgive the noob questions.
I just installed some Kicker 6x9’s in the doors, Kicker 3.5’s in the dash, as well as the Beat Sonic 3S1 amp that comes with an optional harness for non HK models to trick the Starlink system into thinking everything is OEM.
I also wired 85hz bass blockers to the doors, and 300hz bass blockers to the dash. The dash and the doors are wired in parallel. All speakers are 4ohm on the box. All bass blockers are rated for 4ohm.
Here’s my issue:
The speakers all have a fuzzy, crackly sound coming from them when connected to the amp. I have tried removing the harness, and only having the amp, and the issue still persists. The issue is not resolved until the amp is entirely disconnected and only factory run cabling remains. Also, the speakers all make a slight pop on startup. Nothing too loud, but it’s strange they’re doing that even with the stock setup when the factory speakers never did that.
I’m wondering what the cause of this issue could be. Is it a bad ground with the amp cabling or in the amp itself? Is it the fact that it’s wired in parallel and the amp is rated for 4-8ohms? And why the pop when it wasn’t there before?
Any help on this issue would be appreciated. Thank you!
