My girlfriend owed 8k in "pay later" debt. Her parents paid it off two weeks ago on the condition she stops using those services. I just found out she has already spent another 800 on things she doesn't need.

She has lied to me before about what she can afford, and we currently can't do anything (holidays, etc.) because she has no money. I’ve tried talking to her, but she doesn't care.

I’m considering telling her parents. They are the ones who gave her the money, and it feels wrong to let them believe she’s following their rules when she isn't.

Would I be the asshole for telling them?
