I wanted to make a 3d printed version of those necklaces you see where a pendant shows something like a first kiss, first date, first house or something like that. In the process of figuring out how to do it, just for fun, I ended up building a website tool that will do it.

Per the promotion rules, it's free, will stay free, and is fully functional. (It does have a voluntary 'contribute/support' button but you never have to hit it to get all the functionality.)

It takes OpenStreetMap input, generates the lines, then extrudes them. It gives various options to control how map line density (minor streets vs major, etc), thickness, frame style, marker style, size and thickness of that, and other options.

Anyway, I built it for me to play around with 3D some cool prints for my wife, and thought others might enjoy it as well!

Try it out and let me know if you have any feedback - if it's simple enough, I might make some updates.

You know that jewelry where there's like a gold pendant of a stylized map with a little gem marking your first date, first kiss, first house, etc? I wanted to figure out how to do that but make it an STL file so I could 3d print it.

As you do with vibe coding, I iterated a bit, adding functionality. Frame styles, map pin styles, etc.

Anywho, I just finished my first 'release' and pushed it today. Let me know what you think, especially if you're a 3D printing hobbyist. It can be slightly complex to get the design the way you want it, so feedback on the UI is welcome.

Design process: I started with Google Gemini with 'talking' through my idea, and had it interview me and create a requirements.md file. Then I asked it to write a prompt for Cursor AI that would build what I needed based off that file.

I've used Cursor for other projects, so that's what I know/use.

I was really surprised to learn about the ability to create 3d print files, and even have a 3d model viewer built right into the first iteration.
