In another dimension we are already married
Today, on this rainy day,
I missed you for a fleeting second.
I was cooking with the doors wide open,
letting the wind wander through the house.
The air felt soft against my skin,
and I danced quietly between simmering pots
and half-finished thoughts,
lost inside my little fantasy world.
Then suddenly,
the wind rushed in—
and for one fragile moment,
it felt as though you had come home.
And just like that,
my heart slipped into a life that does not yet exist.
I imagined us married.
You were away at work, saving lives
and I kept glancing at the door every few minutes,
pretending not to wait,
yet waiting all the same.
The food stayed warm on the stove,
the rain hummed outside,
and impatience bloomed softly inside me
like a secret no one knew.
Then finally,
you walked in—
my angel, returning home after a long day.
And I would smile before asking,
“How was your day?”
“What was the best part of it?”
“Did you eat your lunch?”
“Did you at least have your coffee?”
And somewhere between all those small questions,
the one my heart truly wanted to ask—
“Did you miss me while you were away?”
