45M here. For OLD, I seem to get stuck in the loop where I send out an opening message (either a short question or an opening description of myself). I get a reply that took at least some modicum of effort, so I think "ok great, the ball is rolling." I send back a response - nothing long but engaging and with open questions to keep it going. Nothing sexual, no looking to meet immediately - a perfectly safe start.

More often than not, that's when my match ghosts.

Is this just the classic case of searching for attention, maybe they found someone better...? In a few cases, I've seen where they posted new ads the same week...
