Yellow Legged Hornet

I walked outside to find dozens of bees on this bush in my yard. It’s super exciting to see all the honey bees, but while filming I noticed this wasp. Is this an invasive yellow legged hornet?? I know there are some native species look alikes that are valuable pollinators.

ID Large Black Bee

Can anyone identify this large black bee? Located on the South East coast/Lowcountry in US.

I’ve never seen so many bees in my yard in the 5 years I’ve lived here! I just spent half an hour mesmerized watching all the bees on this bush. I noticed at least 4 different kinds, also maybe a wasp? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fully black carpenter-like bee before!

How far do bees travel away from their hive? There were only a couple of these large black bees that I noticed but dozens of honey bees. Could there possibly be a hive close by? I’m so geeked and excited to see all of these bees loving this flowering bush 🥹

Edit: ok I’m dumb, these are carpenter bees 🤦🏼‍♀️. Anywho, I hope y’all enjoy this video of this lil cutie!
