Now of course the meta reason to that is the Fate of the Jedi: Allies novel came out after the Legacy Comics were already published, so of course Krayt needed to survive for the story to take place.
My question is, why Luke never even tried to hunt him down after the events of Allies? We know that he and Jacen were plagued by visions of a Dark Man sitting on top of the Throne of Balance, which was what pushed Jacen to become Darth Caedus in the first place.
And even Luke had these visions, repeatedly having been stated to have nightmares about this Dark figure that would cause the end of the Jedi. Now of course during the Duel at the Lake of Apparitions, Luke didn't have time or the energy to apprehend Krayt, as they were both dueling Abeloth, and afterwards Luke ended up in a coma while Krayt managed to escape.
But why, why the flying F**K wouldn't Luke try to hunt down Krayt with all of his might after he recovered?!?!? He has forseen what could happen, he was scared of Krayt, that man was the entire reason his nephew turned to the darkside because he was such a huge threat, you know he has a Sith Order, yet you are gonna let him be?!?
That might be the stupidest thing Luke has done, I even take him trying to murder Ben in Canon over letting Krayt go.
In the first 3 pages he puts Sith Cultists in an optical illusion, making them kill each other while only using an "iota" of his force illusion
He then faces the Ancient Sith Sorcerer Lord Andeddu in a field of the latter's choosing, putting Wyyrlok at a disadvantage
He also blocks the Ancient Sith's lightning attack with no difficulty
So he quintessentially out sorcerer'd the Ancient Lord of Sith sorcery, quite easily too
