Im making a thriller novel with parts in the perspective of the monster, and one of the twists is that the monster is self aware of being a story and purposefully rips out and doesnt tell pieces of information to the reader. Its a political commentary kind of novel.
Do yall think its cringe? I kinda think it's cringe, too, but idk in my head, if i pulled it off it could be really good.
This might be worded awkwardly, but yeah. When you were in your DR, how did you feel about your CR? I plan on permashifting, and im debating whether or not I want to remember this reality.
Did you feel as if your CR was just as distant as your DR was before you shifted? Did your CR feel like a dream? Did it feel insignificant? Did it feel like your DR was your origin?
I don't want to go back here, mainly because of trauma and stuff that happened, but there are still good things here that im not sure i want to forget. Im asking so that in the chance i choose not to forget, i'm aware of what kind of memories my awareness will bring along with me.

The invocation started normally and everything was going swell. It was the first time in a while i was getting visions, and Duke Astaroth (or Duchess Astra, as she wanted me to call her) showed herself as a metallic-white woman wearing a white dress, white wedding veil still showing her face, and dark hair in a bun. She showed herself in several ways, but they always had the dress, the hair, and some kind of white headpiece.
While i was interviewing her, all my answers were very consistent AND accurate to her lore, so that made me extremely happy. Her favorite word to use was literally "star", which she used like 7 times out of a hundred word magnets. I instantly could tell that she ruled over luxury, love, magnetism and wealth. Duchess Astra also talked about liberation, and told me on a few seperate occasions "do not confess", or in other words, don't explain yourself or feel bad about the past.
I also understood that she wanted to work with me. During one reading, i pulled the words, and it said "Finally, you're here". Other times, she'd boast how much she could teach me, and when i asked about her preferences, she added the words "like you" to the list of qualities. She just had an energy as if she was commanding me to work with her. Not to mention a song that was forcefully replaying in my head was about a goddess telling a person to ascend with them to their kingdom. A few of the specific lyrics that were repeating are "Today, right here right now, I'll love again: I already found someone", and "Come live with us in the palace, just let us adore you". On top of this, the goddess character singing this is am antagonist made of white diamond, wearing a white dress and white headpiece. So... yeah that's pretty much Astaroth
She was also very soft and delicate, but she was not a pushover in the slightest. The best way i could describe her energy is the Pyramids of Giza back when they still shined. They were bright, massive, ancient and luxurious, but imposing and unavoidable. Like twice, i asked if i could stop the interview because (due to poor planning on my part) i had gotten hungry randomly and i did an invocation before her, so i was tired. She told me both times no, and to finish what i started.
Another cool thing she did was literally tell me the times to call her. She said to call after sunset, and between times 10 PM and 3 AM. At the time of her telling me this, it was 2:56 AM, so i took that as my sign to hop off lol 😭
As an offering, i sprinkled candies on her sigil and i gifted her this antique bride doll i got in a random place a few years ago. I think she appreciates it!
I'd love to talk with her again. Something about her energy just makes sense.
I'm making my own tarot cards, with my own suits.
This is the suit of Pistols, coordinating with the suit of Wands. I also added my own court cards: Pierrot, Maiden, Ghoul and Duke. My other suits are Vials (water), Drones (Air), Shields (Earth) and Harps for Aither.
I'm feeling kinda insecure about it cuz I'm a bit worried it wont look good, any suggestion as to what I can add to make them look more natural?
So I made it a habit to make a voice recording of all my invocations and rituals so I can transcript them and post them on my blog. A few nights ago, I was interviewing Duke Crocell for someone online, when my dad interrupted me and told me to fix something outside. I told Duke Crocell that I would leave the recording on, so any noise or words he wanted to say, he could.
I'm now listening to the footage, when I noticed that the sound while I was outside of the room was much louder than usual. Normally, its just white noise from my AC, but in the segment when I left the house to do what my dad said, the white noise elevated to an industrial cyclone. It was so gravel-like it sounded like it was gonna break the sound barrier.
My first doubt was that it was simply that the microphone wasn't recording my voice, and since technology prioritizes voice over background noise, it could be that the AC seemed quiter than it actually is when in reality it was genuinely loud. However, I skipped to parts of the recording when I was silently interpreting readings, and the white noise never reached that level.
FURTHERMORE, if it really was my silence that emphasized the technology's attention to the background noise, then the cyclone sounds should have appeared as soon as I shut up or left the room. However, as I'm looking through the footage, I can hear that the recording maintained its regular volume, only until I left the house. I can audibly hear the cyclonic white noise start the moment I was fixing the car.
I snuffed out the candles so that someone walking into my room wouldnt suspect it, and since the candles are right next to the microphone, I would argue that it would be quieter as it wouldnt be picking up the crackling of flames.
Not to mention that Duke Crocell was insanely cooperative, so me explicitly giving him permission to make noise might have obliged him to do so.
I'll still maintain my skepticism and i'll also further investigate my footage, but i'll be lying if I said I'm not excited as hell. Idk, what r ur thoughts?
Edit: listening again. I dont know if I'm losing it, but I'm pretty sure I hear whispers. And to better visualize what the noise sounds like, it sounds like and FEELS like a plane.
