I have been working my first novel for quite some time, it was something I have always wanted to do. I have tons of interesting ideas, and I have also had conversations with other writers about how the whole thing is coming along. My biggest problem is that I simply do not have enough time in my weekly schedule for solid book writing time. I was following another author that I actually found on Youtube, she said that sometimes writers have to make sacrifices to get the book written. I have done as such, come home after class and hopped into my book, if I can find time here and there for this project, fantastic!

I hate to say this, but I am still working on my outline - it's extensive, but I have hit a bout of "writer's block". How disappointing! I have plot points to use, but when it comes to connecting them, I am at a standstill. Anyway, I wanted to ask you guys what you do when you have writer's block...? Any suggestions that could jump-start some inspiration? Should I sideline the outline and work on some upcoming characters, maybe flesh out certain parts of the outline that have already been established? Any help would be immensely appreciated!!

Hey everyone! A quick question about the rules for Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, I hope someone can answer. And I know AD&D is considered ancient by many, it's what I grew up with and has an striking nostalgia for me. Anyway, when it comes to point allocation for weapon, non-weapon proficiencies and such, what modifiers would be applicable for how many points the character in question can use? I don't recall if there was a modifier for how many points the player has to work with. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks so much!!

Hey everyone, I wanted to come on this reddit page and ask a question that came to mind the other day, I do hope someone can answer it. The other day I was on a forum for the game SimCity 4 Deluxe, and was told that I need to install the latest version of Java to get that game to run successfully. While doing a bit of research to know how to do just that, one of the questions that I thought of and wanted to ask here is: If a PC user has more than one Java version on their PC (for whatever reason), do they conflict in any way?

Also, when installing Java on a Windows 11 PC, does the Java folder need to be placed in a certain location on the user's hard drive?

For quite some time, I have wanted to play some of those old-school games my PC - ones that really scratch that nostalgia itch. So, I recently was able to install DBGL (DosBox Game Launcher) on my Windows 11 PC. I then went to an Abandonware website and started looking up a ton of games from my childhood and young adult years. And one thing I noticed was that there were two options on each game screen - download the game or play it in browser. I thought nothing of it and just downloaded each one, and installed them on DBGL. And the other day I got a message from another gamer who asked me if I downloaded these games or played them via my browser.

Honestly, I don't know much about this sort of thing, so I wanted to come on here and ask: What happens when a player goes to a website like the one I mentioned above and double-clicks on the "play in browser" button? Which would you guys recommend - download and install, or play in browser? Did I possibly waste my time downloading and installing on my PC? Any other thoughts on this whole situation?
