Care tips for a newbie?
Was gifted this, and know little about their care so I just had a few questions!
- from the pictures I’ve seen I’m guessing this to be a Sarracenia Rosita or similar, am I close? From what I read I should add a small amount of distilled water to the traps since this species is reliant on rain water, is this correct? There is currently no fluid in any of the traps that I can see.
- as far as light requirements go; I have it under a lamp for now and will move it under a grow light soon as I’ve read they should be adjusted to bright lights. Is this reasonable or do they need to be kept outside? My outdoor space only gets direct sunlight in the morning, is that enough if I were to move it outside?
- what size pot should this be moved too? I’ve read sarracenia like to spread out a bit so I’m assuming I need something bigger than what it came in. I know terra cotta will dry out the moss substrate, so I will likely try to 3D print something resembling the bog setups I’ve seen here. I’m assuming taller is more important than wider, and it needs to have an inch or so of distilled water in the bottom at all times?
