Dasaria is Returning!
Nearly twenty-five years after its original launch in 2002, Dasaria is returning for Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition.
For many players from the early NWN era, Dasaria was more than just a persistent world. It was a long-running community-driven fantasy setting built around roleplay, exploration, political conflict, live storytelling, and persistent consequences. Characters, factions, and player actions helped shape the world over years of development and play.
What Kind of Server is Dasaria?
Dasaria is fundamentally a roleplay-centric persistent world, but it has always welcomed a broad range of players and playstyles. Whether your interests are deep character roleplay, exploration, dungeon delving, PvE progression, faction conflict, crafting, storytelling, or simply experiencing a living fantasy world alongside others, the server is designed to support and encourage all of those experiences.
The setting itself is entirely custom-built.
Dasaria’s lore centers around an ancient and enduring struggle between the benevolent Kingdom of Dasaria and the tyrannical, expansionist Empire of Varana — a conflict that has shaped generations of war, politics, faith, heroism, betrayal, and sacrifice across the world.
Dasaria is not based in the Forgotten Realms setting and instead features its own original world, cultures, history, and pantheon. The religious and mythological foundations of the setting are heavily inspired by ancient Mesopotamian mythology, and include gods and goddesses like Marduk, Ki, and Anu.
Modernization and Restoration Work:
We are currently rebuilding and modernizing the server for the Enhanced Edition platform while remaining faithful to the original spirit and atmosphere that made Dasaria special in the first place.
Current work includes:
- Modern infrastructure and update deployment workflows for a multi-member development team
- NWSync integration for streamlined content delivery
- NWNX integration and backend improvements
- Discord integration and live server tools
- Quality-of-life improvements
- Optimization passes across the game world and systems
- Restoration and auditing of legacy content spanning decades of development
Current Status
The server is currently in an active beta phase, and we are especially welcoming legacy Dasarians and veteran NWN players who want to help test content, rediscover old stories, and help shape the relaunch experience.
The official public relaunch is planned for later this month, May 2026.
