Hi all, I’m looking for some Comrades shoe advice, preferably from people who’ve actually run it.

For normal marathons I race in carbon plated shoes (usually Alphaflys), but Comrades is a very different beast given it’s ~87km on the road + significant elevation + obviously run at a much slower pace than a road marathon.

I’m wondering whether a more stable/high-stack non-plated shoe might actually be the smarter option over that distance. Currently thinking something like the ASICS Superblast (or maybe Megablasts) rather than a pure supershoe.

Would love to hear what worked for a road ultra - or didn’t.
