Me(24F) and my BF (31M) are going out, we have different finances. How do I talk about finances?
Keep this in mind that this is my first relationship. I have never talked about finances.
He’s a dentist. I think he makes some money but I’m not sure he talked about having some debt. And I just graduated from engineering. Currently working as a real estate agent.
Im going steady, learning and improving myself but I can’t compare to him. Yet. This is stressing me out because I feel like I have to reach to his level somehow. I feel he wants some equality, like if he takes me out for dinner, expects me to buy drinks later and so on. We never talked about it. Generally small things like coffee desserts are no problem.
But now he wants to go for a holiday. Which I can afford but not easily. It would put me and my savings a lil hard place.
How do couples talk about finances? Does he realize that I’m not developed in my career yet?
