I graduated with my bachelors degree almost a year ago to the date and am pursuing a one year Masters program in social work. My boyfriend just graduated a few months ago with his bachelors in engineering. He has been applying to jobs since October (two months before graduating) and is now 4-5 months unemployed postgrad. He has been working sooo diligently and putting in around 50 applications a week and it’s clear that he is trying but it is also becoming depressing and a sensitive topic. I applied to about 6 positions two days ago and have gotten calls back from two of them setting up interviews. We have been together for 3.5 years and he truly is my partner. I do believe that he will be happy for me but it also feels very insensitive to share my good news especially because it happened SO fast.

I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on how I can go about being sensitive and navigating our relationship in this time? What could I do to help share without him feeling like I’m rubbing it in his face?
