My sun and MC are at 17 degrees Leo, and the August eclipse will be at 20 degrees of Leo -- based on the minutes, it'll be at a 2/2.5 degree orb from my MC and sun. I am planning to travel for my actual solar return so as to have the solar return chart hit specific houses for what I'm planning for the next year. I was wondering if traveling to be in the path of totality would have any influence on the impact that the solar eclipse also has on my life, or if the effect of the eclipse will be the same no matter where I am on the planet.

I’ve been a Placidus person pretty much the whole time I’ve been studying astrology, which has been on and off for a long time, but more in depth the last year. But after the recent new moon, where all the planets were stacked in Aries, I experienced that very much as the planets being stacked in my 6th house, which is ruled by Aries, even though in Placidus, most of them were actually in my 5th house. (It even started before the new moon, just when a bunch of planets started piling up in Aries.)

Whole sign also makes sense when I look at the day that Pluto entered Aquarius. Something involving my family of origin started that day.

I had always heard though that whole sign was more accurate for transits and that Placidus is more accurate for the natal chart. So is it only more accurate for transits? Or do you also use it to interpret your natal chart?

For my natal chart, switching from Placidus to whole sign, only two of my placements change. I’m a 9° Scorpio rising and have a Moon/Pluto conjunction in Libra in the 11th house in Placidus, but it moves into the 12th house in whole sign. I am pretty psychic but I always chalked that up to having Uranus in the 12th house (in both systems). I guess having that conjunction in the 12th house would also explain my psychic ability.

Do you use one system over the other, or do you use one system for one type of reading in a different system for another type of reading?
