My fiancé and I are planning to have our wedding in May 2028. We found a venue that we really liked and that was too expensive with food/beverage included. The only problem is on Saturdays they split their time between afternoon weddings (12:30-5) and evening weddings (7-11:30) and having a time in between that is an extra $2k.

Apparently the venue is completely booked out in May 2028 evenings, so that means the option to have a in between time isn’t available. I personally think starting a wedding at 12:30 is too early; won’t give us enough time to get ready in the morning; also I’m not sure people will be drinking as much before 5. Also I think leaving the reception to daylight still being out is weird, idk. My fiancé thinks it might be okay.

So now we are potentially choosing between having the wedding on a Friday/Sunday with our own set time (the price we were quoted for Saturday afternoon would be the same); or Saturday at 12:30 and we try to extend the wedding by an hour. Which should we go with?

EDIT: Some comments are really not constructive or helpful, so I’ll say this here so hopefully the rest of them can be of some help.
- We are not changing the month, if the venue doesn’t work out for this day or a fri/sun then we will go someplace else! So please stop commenting change the month.
- Yes I understand a Friday or Sunday may make things more difficult.
- For context, majority of our family is local. My fiancé has a couple college friends from 2 states away.
- We want our wedding to be fun, with dancing and a vibe. We’re just not sure if one that ends by 5pm will do that.
