Does Faust's blindness is why he regret the Monolith?
I recently re-finished STALKER 2 and a theory came to my mind.
We know by Strider's flashback that >!the Monolith/C-Consciousness "guide" (almost litteraly with the sniper spotting scene) the monolithians .!<So! is Faust being so much proselyte about how the monolith voice being a good thing he regret is because of his handicap?
I mean, if my interpretation is right, he lost his "sight" with the psi-field being turned off. I did not found the information on how he lost his eyes in the first place. But >!Wether it's because of the "controller" experiment on him or by a random fight against enemies of the Monolith!<, in the end he was probably not really blind as long as he had his full power (by seeing through the eyes of his comrades or by the Monolith itself).
It would really had some tragedy to his character arc and not just "I am the prophet" trope.
