So USPS has lost two expensive packages of mine in a matter of 4 months. The first package was out for delivery a few days before Christmas (they were Xmas gifts) and sure enough, the status changes to “no access to mailbox”. I have a normal home with a porch where the package could be set on. Of course they tell me to wait another week or two longer to see if the package shows up. Nothing. Never got any compensation for the lost package because I wasn’t aware of the 60 day limit and they kept dragging me along saying they will find it. $850 package, just gone into the abyss. Probably stolen by a worker. USPS takes zero responsibility.
So now let’s move to end of March. I do a straight trade with someone on the internet,been chatting with the guy for a while and we both agree to ship at the same time. Both of us send pictures of us boxing the items. I ship UPS, he ships USPS Priority. Guess who gets screwed? Yeah, that’d be me of course. He gets his package and has been enjoying it for a month now. Meanwhile, the package I have been waiting on has been “moving through the network” for 30 days. I have now filed a claim and two appeals and they just keep denying the claim due to not having proof of value. HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO PROVE VALUE OF SOMETHING I DONT HAVE A RECEIPT FOR? I’ve sent them a link to the item on its website showing it’s MSRP, I’ve tracked the pictures of the guy boxing the item. It retails for $300, and the item I sent him also retailed for the same.
He also shipped it Priority mail which comes with up to $100 included insurance. The claim I filed I just asked for $100. That’s it. And yet they continue to deny the claim. What even good is the included insurance if they just take ZERO responsibility for the fact that they can’t do their fucking jobs. I could ship a sticker via priority mail and if they lose it they should owe me $100.
This feels like straight up robbery and should be illegal. But no, they just deny whatever they feel like.
I truly hope USPS just collapses. Complete incompetence from top to bottom.
