I’m kinda worried about hurricane season this year. Usually I’m home but I’m in the process of switching careers. I’m getting my CDL so I’ll be driving trucks. I’ll only be home 1-2 times in a 2-3 month period.

So while I could usually take 30 min and run to Home Depot for wood to board up my windows I won’t be able to. Would it be wise to get the wood now only thing I’m worried about is it rotting away on my patio with it exposed and not being able to withstand the winds. One of my family members friends I’m sure would be willing to board up my windows if I’m gone but with short notice don’t know if he’ll be able to get all the supplies with everyone panicking. This may not even be an option if he’s away I’d be screwed since no one else could put them up.

I have 9 windows including a sliding glass door in my condo that are around 45 years old... While I wish I could get shutters or impact windows right now it’s not in my budget since paying for school. I’m hoping by the end of the year or buy next season I could do some renovations but it’s not an option right now.

Maybe I’m thinking too much but would rather be on the safe side guess I could just use some opinions I’m in the Broward county / Fort Lauderdale area so usually if we get hit it’s bad.

Sold some items on eBay, Mercari, PayPal etc in the last few months wondering who I would need to get in touch with to get those taxes done. I use H&R Block at the end of the year for everything but don’t know if they do what I need. I didn’t make any profits actually had major losses but needed to sell everything for some money. So figured a professional would be the best choice if they don’t cost thousands of dollars.

I would try doing it by myself but worried about messing up and owing more money then I need to. Could use some advice just unsure of who I should be looking into CPA, Accountant or maybe there’s some other type of professional.

I have around 60-70 sales total so not much probably compared to others just lots of receipts and information from the different websites I’ve been selling on.

Since I’m done selling everything just trying to get a head start for next year so it’s out of my mind and I don’t have to worry about it. I have most of the original purchase receipts, shipping fees and costs etc but still working on getting more information. Don't know if I need to organize everything for them or just had them everything. Again would greatly appreciate the advice

Recently purchased a MacBook Air M2. I've been looking for a monitor the past few weeks and everyday it becomes harder with all the information I'm getting. Can't afford anything more than $400. Don't do any video editing etc but do use it for school and work. So I'm reading a lot a watching videos.

I've been reading more on scaling issues so don't know if I should get a 2 or 4k display. Again I read a lot so looking at text for hours don't want to get any migraines.

Pirce -> $400

Size -> 27in or more

Resolution -> 2 or 4k whatever will coincide better with my mac

Use -> Reading and video playback

Connection -> USB-C preferred but not a deal breaker.

Not looking for anything extra doesn't have to have speakers or a web came etc. Just need a decent display where text won't be blurry.

Displays I've been looking at

  1. Dell 27 Plus 4K USB-C Monitor - S2725QC - 27-inch 4K

  2. LG 27UP850K-W 27-inch Ultrafine 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Computer Monitor, 60Hz

  3. LG 32UP83AK-W 32-inch Ultrafine 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Computer Monitor, 60Hz

Would appreciate the help never thought looking for a monitor would be driving me mad.

Just wondering how home pickup works. Don't really have the option of going to the store now. Does ups use a normal ups worker that will scan my package at pickup or do they subcontract it out via doordash, Roadie etc?

I found a school near me around Miami it’s called fleet force for my CDL A. It looks promising especially considering the pricing around $3500. There aren’t many schools near me. I know I could travel and go to a school one I was highly considering that’s in Tallahassee. It’s around $5600 but would be around 10K with flights, car rental, hotel or Airbnb, food, gas etc for the month.

Fleet force checks every one of my boxes except they don’t have manual trucks so I’ll have a restriction on my license. Wondering how big of a hinderance this is now a days. My plan is to work for either Amazon Fright partner, Schneider trucking then after 6 months or a year transfer to something better tanker, flatbed maybe even something in the oilfield etc.

Also wondering how hard it would be to get my manual endorsement after getting my CDL would I have to retake the entire thing over again? I do plan to get tanker, hazmat and double and triples but still don’t know how it would look to a company with someone with 0 experience having a manual restriction.

Could use some advice from you experienced folks

I also thought of going to a company for CDL school but don’t want to be locked into a contract and haven’t found one yet that would take me from Miami. My goal is to eventually move out of FL to a more fruitful location but once I have 6mo or a year of experience. Don't want to uproot my life and end up not being the right job for me.
