update from previous post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/varicocele/s/aed8SB3jM8

Age: 28

10.5 months post-op (open surgery) unilateral left side and there have been significant improvements with the left side. However, pain during activities around the opposite of incision area (right inguinal/pelvic i think) is painful like a sharp stabbing pain. this right pain was present previously prior surgery but did not appear in the ultrasound that's why it wasn't fixed. it was thought to be radiating pain due to left varicocele.

I have a fairly active lifestyle which is why it is very frustrating. I cycle regularly since it is low impact and no pain while riding but can be painful after the activity. during basketball, I had to take ibuprofen/celcoxib just to play (with Doctor's consent and in moderation) but still gets really painful throughout the game and I would be limping after. although I think this has improved compared to prior to surgery. but at least I can do sports now but not as much as I would like and I could not perform like I used to

I also tried hiking and pain is around the same spot (right side, opposite the incision area) and I think right testes also has little pain but not very prominent. but running/Jogging is really painful honestly

note that normal days are okay but physical activities would cause the pain

I would like to get your insights and thoughts if

a) this is normal part of recovery and I will get better

b) I have complications and possibly right side varicocele. or maybe recurrence

c) this is not right varicocele, are there other underlying condition/d which would explain the pain?

d) I need another surgery?

e) other issues (feel free to add)

appreciate any insights or advice to help me go through this. it is affecting my wellbeing significantly as sports is a big part of my lifestyle

I started cycling a few months back and observed that the bike path on Tilburn Rd from/to Deer Park Station gets cut off at some point. You will then need to be on the main road along with cars which is not very safe.

I inquired with the Brimbank Council as my research shows there was a planned bike path on this route but couldn't find any further details on the progress.

Received this response today and thought I'd share with the group
