Are my expectations too high?
We are having a rehearsal lunch (instead of dinner) the Friday before our wedding. My sister (one of my bridesmaids) has her first week of grad school that week, and has a class the same time as our rehearsal lunch. She told me she wouldn’t be able to make the rehearsal and will try to get there by Friday night, but will definitely be there for the wedding on Saturday.
I said okay, but I’m feeling let down. Is it unreasonable to expect her to skip one of her first classes for my rehearsal? I understand that the first week is really important, but at the same time, it’s usually just syllabus overview and it’s her sister’s wedding. Should I try to convince her to come, or is the first week of classes a big enough deal that I’m being unreasonable?
