My daughter went to an overnight with her girl scout troop at the mall. When she came home the next day she was so exhausted. She just crawled right into bed and stayed in her room all day. She showered and went right back. The next morning which was Monday when she got up she found a bed bug on her finger. She knew what it was from watching Mark Rober videos and immediately got up called me and I gathered it and put it into a ziplock bag so I could look at it and be sure that it was actually a bedbug. Unfortunately, it was. We gathered all of her bedding, any stuffed animals that she had on her bed and immediately put them into a trash bag, wash them on the sanitize mode in our washer. And then put them on the sanitized/ hypoallergenic mode in the dryer as well. We have not been back into her room. She started sleeping in her sister's other bed. So now I'm trying to figure out, was that a lone ranger or are we cooked?

It has been about 2 weeks since the initial sighting. I've seen no poops on her bed like on the lip of the mattress or anything else that looks like it could have an investigation. I tried to "bait" them with warm clothes that she just took off to see if it would bring something out.

My next steps are to purchase some crossfire because I need her to get back into her own room and not be in her sister's space, but now I'm afraid that they might have moved out of her room in an effort to look for more bodies because she hasn't been in her room in 2 weeks. (I got this idea after grading that they will move from room to room in search of a body if they get hungry. She's only been in her room occasionally to grab undies out of a dresser that is on the other side of the room.

Just trying to figure out how freaked out I should be.
